Week 3 Reflection
I envision internet technologies being a double edged sword in future education much like it is today only more magnified in each direction. In the future technology is only going to get better. There will be more and more inventions that allow for humans to learn better, faster and more efficient than ever before. I think that will be a great blessing for us all as future educators as long we we adapt to those new technologies and incorporate them effectively in the classroom. Within the next twenty years, technology will transform education into something we haven’t seen before and make it even easier to learn than it already is in my opinion.
However, I also believe technology could affect education in harmful ways. We have recently discussed the clinginess adolescents have to their technology devices and how the personal connection is taken out of family relationships, friendships and romantic relationships. I think with the growing of technology in education will only increase that gap. Kids will become farther and farther away from close personal relationships and I personally believe this can cause great long term problems in our society.
I wouldn’t say there is a strict single answer to if I am happy about future technology and its affects on education. For me, there are clear positives and negatives that I can see coming up within the next 20 years. I look forward to seeing how it plays out.
